Welcome to HitQuarters!

HitQuarters features the world's largest music industry search engine of record label A&Rs, managers, producers, songwriters and music publishers. It is the only worldwide directory including both contact information and individual track records.

Knowing the track records of people in the music industry is crucial for every unsigned artist intending to make a career in the music business.

Why?

Let's face it; most industry people don't have a clue. Only a few of them have the power to break new artists, the knowledge to support and nurture artists in order to develop their artistry towards success, and the proper finances and marketing contacts.

The music business is the most attractive business of all. You know how strong this attraction is, otherwise you would not be reading this. Keep in mind how many untalented and unknowledgeable people flow into this lucrative industry every day to try their luck.

They crank up the pressure and make the music business very competitive and progressive, but they also turn it into a chaotic jungle full of traps.

Luckily, somewhere in this jungle are a few people who dig out hit after hit for years. And somewhere out there are also a few people who will understand your music; love it; support it and help you develop it and finance a successful release.

The only reliable method of making the distinction and sorting the 1% geniuses from the 99% wannabes, bystanders and mismatches is by studying their track records.

An unknown artist will not usually get more than one major release in a lifetime. You have one chance and you better make sure that the team around you has what it takes to make it. You make the music; someone else has to make sure it reaches the audience. Who?

The only way to be assured is to look at your potential collaborator's previous achievements or failures. Take references. Look at their credits and track records. Everything else is fumbling in the dark.

Don't gamble and let several years of massive effort and development on your part go without results due to someone else's mismanagement, politics, amateurship or lack of motivation, market analysis, marketing power etc.

Remember that the music industry is extremely personified. Before a major label puts its name on a hit record, it passes through the hands of many talented people, and those are the people you want to pass your stuff through.

What we are saying is: Get Educated! YOU need to know that THEY know what the hell they are doing! Your dream to make music your livelihood depends on it!

HitQuarters is the only service that will provide you with the necessary contact information and personal track records of A&Rs, managers, producers, publishers and songwriters worldwide.

Take the pros' words for it (quotes from HitQuarters' archive of interviews):

Ron Fair, President at A&M Records

"All labels do the same thing. The business model is the same. What's going to be different from label to label is the individuals that are there." (HitQuarters Interview Jun 19, 2006)

Mark Williams, A&R at Interscope Records, No.1 on the 2005 World Top 100 A&R Chart

"Do they have some sort of track record of commitment to developing things and stay with things even if they are not immediately successful?" (HitQuarters Interview Apr 16, 2006)

Wayne Williams, senior vice-president of A&R at Jive/BMG, New York

"Unsigned artists should know what A&R people work at the labels and know the difference between them." (HitQuarters Interview Sep 8, 2004)

Robert Stevenson, VP of A&R at Island/Def Jam, New York

"How is artist development possible if staff turns over every two years? I've been here for eight. That's one of the reasons my artists are successful." (HitQuarters Interview Dec 4, 2006)

Jim Chancellor, A&R Fiction/Universal UK

"If I was an artist, I would probably evaluate A&Rs and record labels on the careers of acts that I respect. That's about the only way you can look at it." (HitQuarters Interview Oct 26, 2005)

Shakir Stewart, A&R at Def Jam Records

"To evaluate A&Rs, I would look at their track record." (HitQuarters Interview Nov 13, 2005)
